Haldon Estate is a small, hand-crafted winery established in 2010 on the outskirts of Beechworth, minutes from the town centre. The vineyard sits at the base of Red Hill on a distinctive outwash fan of coarse conglomerate, sand, silt and clay beneath rich red topsoil — soils that give the wines a clear sense of place. Chardonnay and Cabernet are grown without herbicides, in line with organic principles, though the estate does not hold a formal certification. Every wine is made with care and attention rather than volume in mind. Visits and tastings are by appointment — contact the winery by phone (03 5728 2858) or through their website to arrange a time.
