Serengale Vineyard is a boutique single-vineyard estate established in 1999 at the foot of the Victorian Alps near Beechworth, nestled at Everton Upper (Beechworth GI). From Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz grown on the one property, winemaker Pieter de Waal uses wild yeast, gentle handling and leaves wines unfiltered — an approach that earned a five-star Halliday Wine Companion rating. No formal organic or biodynamic certification is held, but integrated pest management and minimal-input viticulture are central to how the vineyard is farmed.
Serengale does not hold formal organic certification. The vineyard uses integrated pest management and low-input viticulture, with a minimal-intervention approach to winemaking including wild yeast and unfiltered wines.
Serengale grows Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz — all from their single Everton Upper vineyard, fermented with wild yeast and released unfiltered.
